The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed that the three officers who attacked a man in Port Harcourt have been identified and taken into custody.
This was made public on Twitter by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the public relations officer for the police, in response to a tweet about the assault.
A Twitter client had shared a clasp which caught the second the officials were attacking the one who was supposed to be en route to chapel on Easter day.
The tweep had written:
“A family man being assaulted in front of his wife by police, this is sad @policeNg.”
CSP Adejobi said:
“These men have been arrested, and their commander will personally bring them to the Force Headquarters tomorrow Tuesday for further actions.
They are three in number, attached to RRS, Rivers State.
“Their action does not portray the police in a good light at all.”
