On Friday morning, April 7, 2023, unidentified gunmen shot and killed a police officer who was on duty at a checkpoint along Marine Base in Port Harcourt, River State.
It was learned that the gunmen in a Salon car passed the checkpoint and opened fire on the police officers, who were sitting under an umbrella, but only one officer was hit.
Punch was informed by a local source that the gunmen were approaching the checkpoint from one of the adjacent streets.
