Dr. Desmond Izunwanne, a lecturer at Imo State University, is shown slapping a student in a video that has gone viral online.
Online reports claim that the student, who is said to be female, showed up to class wearing a mufti rather of the departmental attire required by their school.
Despite the fact that she told him she was unwell and had just left the hospital, the man is said to have hit her.
An internet video of the incident shows the instructor addressing the student and slapping her thereafter.
Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over the video on various social media sites.
